The ROUTE-HDLC enables legacy equipment using HDLC protocols to communicate over standard TCP/IP infrastructure. This allows costly leased lines to be rationalized into a simple TCP/IP LAN with a network switch.
By adding an optional RS485 interface, the modem can also replace Media Interface Units (MIUs) used in traffic systems. The product lends itself to application which uses HDLC protocol. It may be configured as a Master or Slave. A Master configured Route- HDLC can communicates with up to 10 Slave units, and each slave can support up to 50 attached devices.
We're very happy with the multiplexers that you supplied. The nature of the customer’s installation means that we won’t hear general feedback unless things go wrong – we’ve not received any complaints so assume that there have not been any problems. We found the equipment straight forward to set up using the supplied documentation.
